Arizona Cardinals vs. Minnesota Vikings Betting Preview

In this Sunday NFC game, Minnesota is projected as the big favorite and the team’s currently giving up 11 points. If they are wanting to play the moneyline, bettors would currently need to lay down $500 in order to win $100 back on the Vikes (-500). The Cardinals are getting +340 moneyline odds. Oddsmakers have set the over/under (O/U) at 43 points, and should one squad gets out in front in the early stages, it would probably result in a solid in-game betting scenario.

The Cardinals have lost 3.0 units this season and are 3-2 against the spread (ATS). They’ve been a good under bet and have posted an Over-Under record of 1-4. The Vikings are up 1.4 units in 2018. The team is 2-2-1 ATS and owns an O/U record of 2-3.

The Cardinals have gone 1-4 straight up (SU) in 2018 while the Vikings are 2-2-1 SU.

The Cardinals are coming off a 28-18 victory over San Francisco in Week 5 in which Josh Rosen completed just 10-of-25 passes for 170 yards and one touchdown. David Johnson (55 rushing yards on 18 attempts, two TDs) led the ground attack in the win. Christian Kirk (three receptions, 85 yards, one TD) and Larry Fitzgerald (two catches, 35 yards) handled the receiving duties.

Minnesota just earned a 23-21 win over Philadelphia last week. The defensive secondary allowed the Eagles to air it out for 311 yards and two touchdowns. Zach Ertz was a bright spot in the loss for Philadelphia, recording 110 yards on 10 catches. For Minnesota, Kirk Cousins completed 30-of-37 passes for 301 yards and one touchdown. Latavius Murray (42 yards on 11 rush attempts) led the ground game in the win while Stefon Diggs (10 receptions, 91 yards) and Adam Thielen (seven catches, 116 yards, one TD) led the pass-catching corps.

Arizona’s run the ball on 41.6 percent of its offensive possessions this year while Minnesota has an overall rush percentage of 29.8 percent. The Cardinals have produced 65 rush yards per game and have four scores via handoffs this year. The Vikes are logging 66 rushing yards per game and have yet to record a rush TD.

The Cards offensive scheme has averaged 157 yards through the air overall and has four passing scores so far. The Vikes have put up a ridiculous 338 pass yards per game and have 11 total pass TD.

Defensively, Arizona appears to have the upper hand when it comes to limiting the pass. The team has allowed opponents to rush for an average of 142 yards and pass for 270 yards per game. The Minnesota defense has allowed 302.8 yards per game to opposing passers and 99.4 yards per game to opposing runners. The Cards are allowing an adjusted net yards per pass attempt (ANY/A) of just 6.09 to opposing QBs, while the Vikes have given up an 8.10 ANY/A.

Offensively, Rosen has put up 206 passing yards this year, and has completed 14-of-32 attempts with one passing scores and one interception. He’s got a 4.94 adjusted net yards per pass attempt overall, although that number sits at 6.94 over the past two outings.

In the other huddle, Kirk Cousins has managed to complete 125-of-176 passes for 1,266 yards, eight TDs and two INTs. Cousins’ ANY/A stands at 6.91 for the season and 8.37 across his last two outings.
