Chicago enters this contest on a zero-game winless streak while Miami has won each of its last zero. The Bears want to keep things rolling following a 48-10 victory over Tampa Bay in Week 4 where their defense allowed the Buccaneers to throw for 271 yards. DeSean Jackson had a good day for the Buccaneers in that one with 112 yards on five catches. On the offense, Mitchell Trubisky completed 19-of-26 passes for 354 yards and six touchdowns. Tarik Cohen (53 rushing yards on 13 attempts) and Jordan Howard (25 yards on 11 carries) led the ground attack while Cohen (seven receptions, 121 yards, one TD) and Taylor Gabriel (seven catches, 104 yards, two TDs) handled the receiving duties in the win.

In Week 5, Cincinnati took care of this Miami crew by a score of 27-17. The Dolphins defensive unit allowed the Bengals to run for 103 yards on 26 rush attempts. Joe Mixon put up a good showing for Cincinnati, accounting for 93 rushing yards on 22 attempts, along with 22 yards on three catches. For Miami, Ryan Tannehill completed 20-of-35 passes for 185 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. Frank Gore (63 rushing yards on 12 attempts) spearheaded the running game while Drake (seven receptions, 69 yards, one TD) and Albert Wilson (five catches, 43 yards) led the pass-catching corps in the loss.

Looking at offensive play-calling, each of these teams sports a similar run-pass ratio on the season. Chicago’s run the ball on 47.2 percent of its offensive possessions while Miami has an overall rush percentage of 45.8. The Bears have rushed for 122 yards/game and have two touchdowns on the ground this year. The Dolphins are putting up 96 rush yards per game and have just one rushing TD.

It appears that the Bears could have the advantage when it comes to quarterback protection. Their offensive line has given up only 39 sacks while the D-line logged 42 sacks. The Dolphins O-line has allowed 33 sacks and their defense has recorded only 30 sacks.

The Bears offense has tallied 236 yards per game through the air overall and has eight passing TDs so far. The Dolphins have put up 212 pass yards per outing and have 10 total pass score.

Defensively, Chicago appears to have the upper hand in both facets. The team has allowed opponents to rush for an average of 64 yards and pass for 258 yards per game. The Miami defense has allowed 284.2 yards per game to opposing passers and 109.0 yards per game on the ground. The Bears are giving up an adjusted net yards per pass attempt (ANY/A) of only 4.66 to opposing QBs, while the Dolphins have allowed a 5.43 ANY/A.

Offensively, Trubisky has amassed 725 passing yards on the year. The signal-caller has completed 67-of-95 attempts with eight scores through the air and only two interceptions. He’s got a 7.39 adjusted net yards per pass attempt overall, although that number is 9.43 over the past two outings.

Ryan Tannehill has completed 74-of-109 passes for 872 yards, eight TDs and four INTs for Miami. His ANY/A stands at 6.55 for the year and 2.25 across his past two outings.
