Myles Garrett was flagged four times against the New York Jets Monday night and twice for roughing the passer. The second flag came on the play that knocked Jets quarterback Trevor Siemian out for the season. Now, the mantra of “dirty player” has been placed on Garrett and he doesn’t like it.
“I know who I am and the guys within these walls know who I am and that’s not me,” Garrett told The Plain Dealer. “I’m not going to do anything to try and hurt this team or take out any player outside the rule book. I’m just going to keep playing this game the way it’s supposed to be played and that’s violently but passionately.”
Myles Garrett has 5.0 sacks through 2 games. Clay Matthews was the last player with 5.0 sacks through 2 games, doing it in 2012.

Garrett currently leads the NFL in penalties, but he also leads the league in sacks with five. I can’t see his defensive coordinator reigning him in too much, especially with the defending NFC Champion Los Angeles Rams coming to town Sunday night.
To be fair, Siemian caught his ankle on the turf on the second penalty. It wasn’t the hit from Garrett that cost him the rest of the season. The Cleveland defensive end was sorry it happened.

“You don’t want to put anybody out for the season,” he said. “It’s their job and it’s something that you don’t do unless you love it, and you don’t want to take that away from anybody. I hope he comes back faster and stronger than he ever has and I wish the best for him.”
Njoku suffers broken wrist
Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku broke his wrist in Monday night’s game against the Jets. He’s currently looking at surgical options and could be out for at least a month.
In addition to a concussion, Browns TE David Njoku suffered a wrist injury Monday night that could require surgery, per source. Njoku getting additional medical opinions to find out if surgery is necessary and how long he would be sidelined.

Last year Njoku caught 56 passes for 639 yards and four touchdowns. This season in slightly more than a game, he caught four passes for 37 yards and a touchdown.
Damarious Randall, Christian Kirksey, Chris Hubbard, Adarius Taylor, Morgan Burnett and Kendall Lamm were all held out of Thursday’s practice with various injuries.
