The San Diego Padres are set to host their division rival Arizona Diamondbacks at PETCO Park. The opening pitch is scheduled for 10:10 p.m. ET and Fox Sports Arizona will televise the action.

Arizona Diamondbacks vs. San Diego Padres Odds

Oddsmakers are listing San Diego (+160) as the underdog to Arizona (-170). The total sits at 7.5 runs and bettors can wager on the over for -115 and the under for -105. The game’s most recent runline odds sit at -120 for betting the Diamondbacks -1.5 runs and +100 for the Padres +1.5.

The Diamondbacks are 56-48 SU and are 53-50 against the spread (ATS). They’ve gained 5.4 units for moneyline bettors and 7.2 units ATS. Arizona is 3-4 ATS over its last seven games and the under has hit in five of those seven. The Padres, on the other hand, are 42-63 SU and 48-57 ATS. They’ve lost 10.1 units for moneyline bettors and 28.1 units ATS. San Diego has covered the spread just twice over its last seven games and the over has hit in five of those seven.

Padres games have a 49-53-3 over/under record in 2018. Arizona has been a decent under bet with a total record of 46-52-5.

Zack Greinke will get the nod for the visiting Diamondbacks. The right-handed Greinke is 11-5 with a 3.05 ERA and 137 strikeouts. He’s 0-0 with five strikeouts and a 4.15 ERA against San Diego this year.

The Padres are putting the ball in the right hand of Luis Perdomo (1-5, 6.99 ERA), who has 31 punchouts and 19 walks as well as a 1.90 WHIP. Perdomo has yet to face the Diamondbacks this year, but he made four starts against them in 2017, posting a 1-3 record with an 8.84 ERA.

San Diego’s pitchers have yielded 4.7 runs per game overall in 2018 as a unit. The team’s starting pitching staff has an ERA of 4.96, a WHIP of 1.46 and a strikeouts-per-nine of 7.6. First baseman Eric Hosmer and left fielder Jose Pirela have led the way for the Padres’ batters this year. Hosmer is hitting .246/.312/.385 with 10 home runs, 42 RBIs and 44 runs scored, while Pirela is hitting .259 with three homers, 27 RBIs and 45 runs scored.

Arizona’s offensive production has been sparked by left fielder David Peralta and first baseman Paul Goldschmidt, who collectively have blasted 38 home runs. Peralta is slashing .290/.346/.493 with 16 home runs, 53 RBIs and 48 runs scored. Goldschmidt is slashing .277/.384/.522 with 22 homers, 54 RBIs and 65 runs scored.

The Diamondbacks have gained 1.5 units and are 35-31 ATS when facing a right-handed starting pitcher this season. The over has hit in 31 of those games, as opposed to 33 that’ve hit the under in such games.
