Cyborg vs Kunitskaya Odds For UFC 222

Cyborg vs Kunitskaya Odds

Cyborg vs Kunitskaya Odds – Once again, the UFC is turning to the women to headline as Cristiane Cyborg faces Yana Kunitskaya in the UFC 222 main event. Considering that “Cyborg” headlined the UFC’s December 30th offering and that there are three women’s fights in all on the card including two slated for the PPV and you realize that the UFC is relying on the women to draw. And without a doubt it is Cristiane”Cyborg” Justino who is at the forefront of the charge.

Providing the opposition is Russia’s Yana Kunitskaya. Kunitskaya is a bit of an athletic prodigy, having competed in Tae Kwon Do since her childhood. She had a child in 2012 and she has drifted in and out of retirement ever since. Though she has a lot of competition under her belt, this is her UFC debut and that is “Cyborg” standing across from her. It is the headline fight of a PPV and the live venue is in Las Vegas. If Kunitskaya can do anything memorable, even in losing, she will have done so on the biggest stage of her life. Smart money says we get the usual “Cyborg runs over opponent” headlines. One thing to remember here is that “Cyborg” had a relatively grueling fight against Holly Holm just two months ago. Remember that “Cyborg” is now 32 years old and it will be interesting to see if two months is just too soon to come back.

Whatever you want to say about Frankie Edgar, he is not going out easy. Edgar is now five years removed from his run as a lightweight champion and this will be his tenth fight as a featherweight. He has gone 7-2 in the weight class, beating everybody they have put him against except former champion Jose Aldo. In the undefeated Ortega (13-0) Edgar is guarding the key to a title shot. Ortega is coming off a submission win over Cub Swanson this past December 9th and a win over Edgar would put him in line for a shot against champion Max Holloway. Edgar would also like to claim a shot at Holloway as Edgar hopes to break through and earn another run with UFC gold.

Fading heavyweights Andrei Arlovksi and Stefan Struve meet in a match of fighters that are far from  the title picture. Arlovski snapped a five fight losing streak in his last fight this past November while Struve has gone an inconsistent 2-2 in his last four fights.

The ladies bantamweight division sees Ketlen Vieira and Cat Zingano in a near pick ’em fight.Vieiera is the fresher of the two  at this point as the 26 year old has gone 9-0 in her MMA career. That includes a submission win over Sara McMann in her last outing. Meanwhile Zingano is returning after a layoff of more than 18 months. Once consdered one of the top bantamweights in the world, Zingano went 0-2 in her last two fights prior to the layoff so she is in desperate need of a win.
