MLB Lines:  For the past two seasons the Detroit Tigers have had the dubious distinction of being a consistent money loser and overlay on the MLB betting board despite the fact that they have led the American League Central Division during that span.  The Cleveland Indians have struggled to clear the .500 mark and to stay out of the red ink after their surprise playoff run of last year.  The Cleveland Indians will host the Detroit Tigers at Progressive Field Saturday night with coverage on FOX starting at 7:15 PM ET.

Pitching Drops for Detroit

Detroit played their best baseball on the road with a mark of 18-13 as 14 out of their 31 away games went under the total.  Detroit ranks 23rd in MLB for staff earned run average while run production remains solid at 6th in the Big Leagues.  The bullpen in particular has been a major concern as the Tigers rank dead last in bullpen ERA with 7 blown saves.

Pitching Deserts Tribe

Cleveland is 21-11 at home and went over the total in 18 of those games.  Detroit ranks 7th for run production and 24th for staff earned run average.  The Indians ranked 26th for quality starts and were the worst fielding team in MLB.

The Pick

The Tigers have won 14 out of their last 20 games with the Indians as just 8 out of those 20 games went under the total.  Detroit has won 11 out of their last 16 games at Cleveland with just 3 out of the last 9 games at Progressive Field between the Tigers and Indians going under the total.  We’ll call for the Detroit Tigers and over the total.
