Odell Beckham Jr. is returning to the New York Giants, the franchise announced Monday. Beckham began his NFL career in New York, spending his first five seasons with the Giants.
During that initial stint with the Giants, Beckham compiled 5,476 receiving yards and caught 44 touchdowns. He earned Pro Bowl honors three times while in New York.
Beckham was traded to the Cleveland Browns in 2019 and subsequently had stops with the Los Angeles Rams, Baltimore Ravens and Miami Dolphins. He did not play in the 2025 season before the Giants announced his return.
Returns to former teams are not uncommon. The Chargers brought back Keenan Allen after his first run from 2013-23; Allen had 10,530 yards on 904 receptions and 59 touchdowns in that span, made six Pro Bowls and returned to Los Angeles for the 2025 season, recording 777 yards on 81 catches and four touchdowns on a one-year deal.
Other recent NFL examples include Charles Woodson, who played for the Raiders from 1998-2005 and again from 2013-15; James Harrison, who had stints with the Steelers in 2002 and 2004-12 and returned from 2014-17; Randy Moss, who played for the Vikings from 1998-2004 and briefly again in 2010; and Cam Newton, who was with the Panthers from 2011-19 and returned in 2021.
