Brian Kelleher (+200)

Brian Kelleher is three up and one down in his UFC career, with wins over Renan Barao, Damian Stasiak, and Iuri Alcantara. He’ll face a very tough competitor here in John Lineker. The win over Barao was one of the more impressive triumphs for Kelleher, but this is a pretty quick turnaround from that February fight which went all 15 minutes. Kelleher was a short underdog in that one, but mostly controlled the fight against a more experienced fighter. The difference between that fight and this one, is that Barao’s career path had dropped drastically since his loss to TJ Dillashaw, while Lineker’s is on the rise.

John Lineker (-240)

John Lineker has won four of his last five fights, with a defeat at the hands of Dillashaw as the only blemish over the last two years. Lineker had a solid win over Marlon Vera last October and has been laying pretty low since then. Lineker fought four times in 2016, but only once in 2017 after that loss to Dillashaw. This is a must-win match for Lineker, as he’s high enough in the rankings to get some future opportunities, but not high enough to withstand a loss as a big favorite.

Pick: John Lineker

Lineker might get tested in this matchup for a bit, but he is the better all-around fighter, both on his feet and on the ground. Kelleher got a “name” win over Barao, but Barao is a shell of his former top contender self. Lineker , the favorite should hold up and take the win in this one.
