Winona State Football has been selected for the NCAA Division II playoffs

According to today’s NCAA announcement, the Winona State University football team has earned a spot in the NCAA Division II Football Championship. On Saturday, November 19, Winona State will travel to Bemidji, Minnesota, to take on Bemidji State. Winona State will be participating in the NCAA Division II Football Playoffs for the seventh time, and for the first time since 2017.

 

Head coach Brian Bergstrom offered his comments on the choice upon the announcement that the Warriors had been granted a spot in the tournament: “We are ecstatic as a program to continue playing football together and secure a Week 12 spot. It fits perfectly with our motto of ‘1-0.’ We are eager to conquer the week. It’s a testament to how hard our troops have worked and how well they have earned it. For them, I could not be happier.” With an 8-3 record and the NSIC South Division Championship at the end of the regular season, the Warriors.
