Baker Mayfield Crushes Texas and Clemson is the Focus of a New TV Show

It’s been a lively offseason for Baker Mayfield. The Cleveland Browns quarterback has continued to stir the pot, and he has already added some fire to this year’s Red River Shootout with his recent comments. The Heisman Trophy winning Oklahoma Sooners quarterback went on a radio show in Norman yesterday and poured a lot of cold water on the hype surrounding Texas this season. The Longhorns are one of those schools that is constantly built up in the preseason, and Mayfield is over it.

The Clemson Tigers have won two of the last three national championships, and one of the favorites to win the 2019 national championship is set to have its own television show this season. The ACC Network is finally launching in earnest at the start of the season, and the network will be profiling the ACC’s flagship program to help bring in viewers. As an added bonus, that could help Trevor Lawrence’s Heisman campaign.

Speaking of Trevor Lawrence, there is growing buzz surrounding the Clemson Tigers quarterback. He set the world on fire as a freshman, and he makes Clemson a real threat to repeat even though their vaunted defensive line has moved onto the NFL. Lawrence has been heralded as one of the most pro-ready quarterbacks ever.

Finally, if you’re a college football junkie like me, you know Bill Connelly’s previews are the best in the business. Connelly’s S&P+ Ratings are used by everyone these days, and they are better than anything you would find for $10 on a magazine stand. Yesterday, Connelly announced that he would be leaving SB Nation at the end of this week, and he would also be stepping away from Podcast Ain’t Played Nobody. The numbers junkie has yet to announce what his next move will be, but he has assured fans and followers we won’t lose his incredible insight into college football.
