Booger in the Booth, Crowell Out for Season and More

Had enough of Anthony “Booger” McFarland? Monday Night Football doesn’t think so as the erstwhile sideline reporter and pilot of the most hated vehicle in all of professional sports, The Boogermobile, has been invited to join Joe Tessitore as the color analyst on the upcoming season of ESPN’s MNF. McFarland replaces Jason Witten, who had such a terrible season as an analyst that he opted to return to the NFL.

Isaiah Crowell tears his Achilles

The Oakland Raiders saw their running back depth chart take a hit when Isaiah Crowell went down with a torn Achilles on Tuesday in a team workout. Last season Crowell rushed for 685 yards and six touchdowns for the New York Jets.

Theismann says Haskins can wear No. 7

Former Washington Redskins quarterback Joe Theismann has given rookie quarterback Dwayne Haskins his blessings to wear No. 7 as he begins his career with the team. Only No. 33, Sammy Baugh’s number, has been officially retired by the Redskins, but the team has “protected” the Theismann’s number since he retired.
