Baseball Lines: The Boston Red Sox visit the Cleveland Indians on Wednesday and it should be the home team who is favored. The Boston Red Sox have some issues in their starting rotation so the advantage on the mound should be with the Cleveland Indians. Here is a look at this matchup on Wednesday and baseball picks.

Boston Red Sox Pitching

The Boston Red Sox don’t really have a fourth or fifth starter right now. They have lost Ryan Dempster for the season and they have Clay Buchholz and Felix Doubront on the DL. It could be that Brandon Workman gets this start on Wednesday. The team is just 19th in the league in team ERA which is one reason why they have a losing record.

Cleveland Indians Pitching

The Cleveland Indians should be going with Corey Kluber on Wednesday. He has been good for the Cleveland Indians this season with a 5-3 record and a 3.10 ERA. He has 83 strikeouts in his first 72.2 innings. He has been consistently going about 7 innings and giving his team a chance to win each time out.

Game Notes

Before this season began it was the Boston Red Sox who had won 8 of the last 10 in the series with the last two going over. It hasn’t mattered where the games have been played as the Boston Red Sox had won 7 of the last 10 in Cleveland with the last four going over the total. The Boston Red Sox have been right about .500 on the road this season while the Cleveland Indians have been much better at home than on the road.

Baseball Picks

It is hard to have much confidence in the Boston Red Sox when they send their fourth or fifth starter to the mound. If the Cleveland Indians go with Kluber as expected in this contest on Wednesday then they should have a nice edge. I will lay the small number in baseball lines and take the Cleveland Indians in this contest.
