Cowboys News: Rumors About Urban Meyer To Dallas Get Louder

Ohio State

Already, Urban Meyer commented on what it would be like to be interviewed by the Dallas Cowboys. Now Mike Freeman over at Bleacher Report has a full rundown of the situation, and it’s becoming a very real scenario.

Equally important, The Herd Now on twitter posts a podcast segment which discusses the statistical likelihood of this event becoming reality. Actually, Meyer is the Vegas odds favorite currently to become the next head coach of the Dallas Cowboys

Obviously, all of this got more real when the Cowboys lost to the Patriots Sunday. It was the most watched NFL regular season game on television since 1996. And then Dallas came out flat, which prompted owner Jerry Jones to make some pointed comments at the coaching staff and Jason Garrett.

Without question, this is a huge game tomorrow for the Dallas Cowboys in terms of Jason Garrett’s future. If the Cowboys lose, the owner could look to make a change right now. While even if Dallas defeats Buffalo on Thanksgiving at home, there’s no indication that Garrett’s job is safe.

It seems like the owner realizes he’s no spring chicken, and he wants to win ‘right now’. Finally feeling the urgency, Jones looks prompted to make a change at head coach. It’s possible that after all this time, Garrett’s voice has run stale.

The biggest name on the market is Urban Meyer, and that could be on Jones’ early Christmas list.
