A dog at LoanDepot Park became the focus of attention during Monday night’s game between the Miami Marlins and the Texas Rangers, a contest Miami lost 4-3. The Marlins broadcast captured a clip showing one canine being fed a hot dog while a second dog nearby watched.
The footage, shown during the top of the seventh inning, depicted the first dog attacking the food as the other animal sat only feet away, apparently longing for a bite. The moment was picked up on the stadium feed and drew notice from the team.
On Tuesday afternoon the Marlins posted on X seeking to identify the dog that had been left watching its ballpark neighbor eat. The team offered a reward: a “dream day” at LoanDepot Park for the animal if it can be found.
As of Wednesday afternoon there were no reports that the dog had been located. Miami and Texas were scheduled to play the final game of their three-game series on Wednesday, with first pitch set for 12:10 p.m. ET.
The search and the team’s social post provided a light-hearted follow-up to the game, with the Marlins looking to reunite the canine with a ballpark experience if its owner comes forward.
