Mets’ Conforto Injured, Yelich Keeps Raking and More

A scary outfield collision resulted in the Mets possibly losing young star Michael Conforto for an extended period of time. The Padres go one more game without a no-no and now own the Major League record for futility in that regard. Meanwhile, it only feels like Christian Yelich has homered in 8,000 straight games, but he did hit two more on Thursday in Philadelphia. And the A’s hit quite a few homers too.

This is a scary-looking collision, especially because Conforto takes the brunt of it. Here’s hoping he’s OK.

A team not pitching a no-hitter on a given night is hardly news, but the Padres have done it 8,020 games in a row, setting a new MLB record. Now THAT’S some no-no news.

The Brewers’ Christian Yelich had hit almost all of his homers at home in Miller Park, but he added two to his road total Thursday against the Phillies and now has 18 homers. It’s only May 17, by the way.

The A’s cracked a few home runs of their own and beat the Tigers for the 13th consecutive time.

It’s almost like Tim Tebow was never a Major League-caliber player and just a sideshow for Mets’ Minor League and Spring Training games…. Almost.
