The Dunedin Blue Jays unveiled a new set of “Rain Delay” jerseys on Thursday that incorporate a regional weather radar graphic, the Single-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays announced.
The team said the design includes a weather radar similar to those used by local meteorologists. According to the team’s post, Dunedin experienced 24 weather delays, 10 postponements and six cancellations during the 2025 season. The club captioned the reveal: “If you can’t beat the weather, wear it.”
Dunedin plays at TD Ballpark in Dunedin, Florida, located near the Gulf of Mexico. The U.S. National Park Service describes the area’s climate as “uncharacteristically hot and humid for its latitude,” a condition tied to the Gulf’s influence.
The U.S. National Park Service notes that rainfall, thunderstorms, hurricanes and tropical storms are typical in the region, creating conditions that can be challenging for an outdoor ballpark. The new uniforms are presented as an acknowledgement of that local weather pattern.
The club, a member of the Florida League, plans to debut the Rain Delay jerseys on July 18 against the Clearwater Threshers, the Phillies’ Single-A affiliate, if weather allows.
