NFL Picks: Arizona and Seattle Battle For NFC West Control

NFL Picks: The combination of big time public betting money along with the maximum effort of every opponent has served to make life quite difficult for the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks both on the field and at the cashier’s cage. The Arizona Cardinals on the other hand have no such problem as the ultimate stealth team that is winning big both on the field and at the betting window.

The Seattle Seahawks will host the Arizona Cardinals at CenturyLink Field on Sunday with coverage on FOX starting at 4 p.m. ET. Seattle opened as a 6.5-point favorite with a total of 42.

Super Hangover

Seattle is 6-4 straight up but 4-6 against the spread and 7-3 over the total. The Seahawks are coming off a 24-20 loss at Kansas City and are 3-3 in their last three games with just one payout in that six game span. Seattle is the top ranked rushing team in the NFL but ranks 30th for passing yardage. The Seahawks have a major lack of breakaway ability at the wide receiver position which is contributing to their passing woes. Seattle ranks third overall in the NFL for total defense.

Soaring Cards

Arizona is 9-1 SU, 8-2 ATS, and 3-6-1 under the total. The Cardinals are coming off a 14-6 home payout over Detroit as QB Drew Stanton managed the game well enough in place of the injured Carson Palmer, who is on the injured reserve list. Arizona ranks 14th in the NFL for scoring offense and an impressive third for scoring defense.

Matchup and Pick

Arizona has been one of the better wagering values on the board in any sport in road games with just four losses against the spread in their last 16 away matchups. The Cardinals have gone over the total in just four out of their last 11 away matchups.

Seattle has a well deserved reputation for having a strong home field advantage with the loudest crowd in all of sports. The Seahawks have covered the spread in 13 out of their last 20 games at CenturyLink Field with four out of their last five home games going over the total.

Seattle has come away with the money in five out of their last eight games against Arizona with 14 out of the last 20 meetings between the Seahawks and Cardinals going over the total. Seattle has paid out ion six out of their last nine home games with Arizona as five out of the last six meetings at Seattle between the Cardinals and Seahawks have gone under the total.

We’ll call for Seattle to flex their championship muscles and show Arizona who is boss of the NFC West. Seattle and under is the call.
