Oklahoma Sooners at Northwestern Wildcats ATS Prediction

The Sooners will be looking for a similar outcome after topping the UT Rio Grande Valley Vaqueros in their last outing, 91-76. The Sooners had a much better free throw rate (0.379 vs. 0.130) and had a much better effective field goal percentage (0.595 vs. 0.486). Oklahoma rallied around Christian James, who was the top scorer from either team with 29 points on 9-for-17 shooting.

In the Wildcats’ last game, they had no trouble getting past the New Orleans Privateers, 82-52. The Wildcats had a much better turnover percentage (11.2 vs. 20.4) and had a much better free throw rate (0.350 vs. 0.204). With 18 points, six rebounds and five assists, Northwestern’s Vic Law played well.

Baskets could be hard to come by as a pair of the NCAA’s top defenses go head-to-head. Northwestern currently ranks 29th in defensive efficiency (91.1) and Oklahoma is 21st (89.6).

Both teams have had a player take their game to the next level over their last five games. James (0 points) has been great for the Sooners while Law (0 points) has contributed greatly to the Wildcats.

After the Sooners won the only contest against the Wildcats last season, 104-78, this will be the first matchup of the year between these two teams. Getting to the charity stripe was one of Oklahoma’s largest advantages. They made 27 trips to the line, while Northwestern went 19 times.
