New Orleans is adding Brock Rechsteiner to its 90-man roster after a tryout at the team’s rookie mini camp, US Sports Management announced on social media, the report says.
Rechsteiner, the son of WWE Hall of Famer Scott Steiner, told reporters he plans to pursue wrestling one day but wants to focus on football for now. “I want to play football as long as I can,” he said, per the report. The report says Rechsteiner also signed an NIL deal with WWE in 2025.
The receiver entered the NFL as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Jacksonville State. The report says he totaled 52 catches for 630 yards and seven touchdowns across four seasons at Jacksonville State.
The report places Rechsteiner within a family with deep wrestling ties. His cousin Bronson Rechsteiner spent time with the Baltimore Ravens during a training camp in 2020 and now wrestles as Bron Breakker, the report says. The report also notes that Rechsteiner’s uncle Robert, who wrestled as Rick Steiner, was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame alongside Scott Steiner in 2022.
Rechsteiner acknowledged modeling his work ethic after his relatives. “My dad is a very hard worker, my uncle is a hard worker, my cousin Bron Breaker is a very hard worker, so it kind of just showed us how hard we need to work to be great at what we want to do,” he said, the report says.
The report says Rechsteiner previously attended a rookie minicamp with the Tennessee Titans earlier this year but was not signed. With the Saints now adding him to their 90-man roster, he will have another opportunity to compete for a spot during offseason workouts and training camp.
