UFN 116 Undercard Odds

UFN 116 Undercard Odds For Saturday – The UFC Fight Night series is in Pittsburgh this weekend and the card is headlined by the Luke Rockhold vs David Branch middleweight encounter.

A pair of heavyweight fights appear on the undercard to get things started. Justin Ledet returns to action as he greets UFC newcomer Azzuna Anyanwu. Ledet is 2-0 in the UFC and he has kept his record undefeated at 8-0 overall, while Anyanwu is more experienced at 14-4 overall and he is riding a strong five fight winning streak.

The second heavyweight fight sees Dan Spitz (5-1) trying to score a win after dropping his UFC debut against veteran Mark Godbeer this past March. Spitz will be facing veteran Anthony Hamilton, who is an unimpressive 3-5 in the UFC but has a 15-7 overall MMA record.

The UFC’s heavyweight division is in desparate need of some new blood. The current champion is Stipe Miocic and he is facing an old giuard of Cain Velasquez, Fabrizio Werdum and Junior Dos Santos as his top current rivals and all are long-time UFC fighters. It is a long way away for the heavyweights on the UFN 116 undercard and it is not easy to see any of them assailing the UFC’s heavyweight title picture, but you never know. Of the group, Ledet would appear to have the most upside but he is a smaller heavyweight and will need time to develop.

Perhaps the most intriguing match-up on the undercard comes in the middleweight division as Uriah Hall takes on Krzysztof Jotko. Jotko is a 19-2 fighter out of Poland who is coming off a loss to main event fighter David Branch that snapped a five fight winning streak. Taking two losses in a row in the UFC is never a good proposition, and Jotko needs to avoid a losing streak to regain his upward trajectory.

Hall knows about having the shine come off his star. The Ultimate Fighter 17 runner-up has always been an exciting and athletically gifted fighter but he is currently on a three fight losing streak.  His best win comes over Gegard Mousasi, but he gave that win back in a rematch this past November. He has been off since, and that maybenefit Hall, who has been fighting as often as possible in recent years. One more loss for Hall and he is probably out the door with the UFC.

The live fights at the PPG Arena will open with lightweight action as Jason Saggo (12-3) takes on Gilbert Burns (11-2). As is the story in the cutthroat world of the UFC< both fighters are coming off losses and that means pressure to avoid a losing streak.

The lines for the rest of the UFC undercard appear below. As usual, the matchmaking from top to bottom on UFC events have relatively competitive lines, with no one being favored by -1000 or more.
