The Wisconsin Badgers (11-5, 3-2 Big 10) head to Maryland to take on the Terrapins (14-3, 5-1 Big 10) in a game that has the potential to be high-scoring. The game is scheduled to get underway at 8:30 p.m. ET on Monday, January 14, 2019.

Wisconsin Badgers vs. Maryland Terrapins ATS Prediction

The Badgers are hoping for a better outcome after their 84-80 loss to the Purdue Boilermakers in their last contest. Purdue’s turnover percentage was their biggest strength over Wisconsin. The Boilermakers had a rate of 9.2 (better than their season average of 13.9), while the Badgers posted a mark of 20.9 (above their season average of 12.4). Ethan Happ led Wisconsin in scoring with 31 points on 14-for-17 shooting.

In the Terrapins’ last game, they edged the No. 22 Indiana Hoosiers, 78-75. Maryland had an offensive rebounding percentage of 45.0 (above their season average of 36.9). Indiana, on the other hand, held the Terrapins to an effective field goal percentage of 0.476 (below their season average of 0.547). Bruno Fernando was Maryland’s top scorer with 25 points on 11-for-12 shooting from the field.

After splitting two games last season, these teams will battle for the first time this year. In the most recent contest, the Badgers won 59-54. The Badgers made 20 of their 24 free throws (83.3 percent) and had a much better turnover percentage (10.4 vs. 18.2).

This battle figures to be a shootout as two of the nation’s best offenses clash. Maryland currently ranks 30th with 114.9 points per 100 possessions and Wisconsin is 54th (112.4). Ball security should be an advantage for the Badgers. They rank 6th at avoiding errors (turnover percentage of 14.5 percent), while the Terrapins force the 27th-fewest turnovers in the nation (opponents’ turnover percentage of 16.1 percent).
