WrestleMania 34 Preview & Predictions

WrestleMania 34 is this Sunday and it is WWE’s biggest event of the year. While we have already previewed the two-hour long Kickoff Show, there is still a whole four-hour long main card to run down. The biggest matches of the show include AJ Styles vs. Shinsuke Nakamura for the WWE Championship, Ronda Rousey’s WWE debut, and Daniel Bryan’s return.

The Bar (c) vs. Braun Strowman & Mystery Partner – Raw Tag Team Championships
After successfully defending the Raw Tag Team Championships against the entire Raw Tag Team Division, Braun Strowman won a tag team battle royal all by himself to become the new challenger. The catch is that Kurt Angle is forcing him to choose a partner. Strowman says he has chosen one, but he has kept it a secret until the match.

Prediction:
Braun Strowman having a mystery partner is enough to justify WWE giving him a win over the Bar. Winners, and NEW Raw Tag Team Champions: Braun Strowman and Mystery Partner

The Usos (c) vs. The New Day vs. The Bludgeon Brothers – SmackDown Tag Team Championships
On the SmackDown side, the Tag Team Championship scene is very competitive. The Usos and the New Day were battling at Fastlane when the Bludgeon Brothers interfered and ruined the match. The simple solution is to put them all in the title match together.

Prediction:
Making this a triple threat match gives the Bludgeon Brothers the opportunity to lose while still being incredibly dominant. The Usos will probably retain here. Winners, and STILL SmackDown Tag Team Champions: The Usos

Randy Orton (c) vs. Rusev vs. Jinder Mahal vs. Bobby Roode – United States Championship
This was supposed to be Bobby Roode’s rematch for losing the United States Championship to Randy Orton, but Rusev and Jinder Mahal picked up significant enough victories to be added to the match.

Prediction:
As a late addition and a fan favorite, it is hard to bet against Rusev, especially on Rusev Day. Winner, and NEW United States Champion: Rusev

The Miz (c) vs. Finn Balor vs. Seth Rollins – Intercontinental Championship
In numerous attempts to out-do each other, Finn Balor and Seth Rollins both earned opportunities to challenge the Miz for the Intercontinental Championship. The Miz continues to try and make the title more prestigious by only being a few weeks away from being the longest reigning IC Champ in history.

Prediction:
Even though the Miz is so close to breaking the longest combined reign as Intercontinental Champion, he will probably also break Chris Jericho’s record of holding the title nine times. That being said, this is the perfect time to give Finn Balor a championship after only having the Universal Championship for a day. Winner, and NEW Intercontinental Champion: Finn Balor

Daniel Bryan & Shane McMahon vs. Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens
Sure, there is a story behind this match where Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens got fired after assaulting Shane McMahon. All that you need to know is that Daniel Bryan is returning to the ring.

Prediction:
Daniel Bryan’s return either means a feel-good win or another feud with a McMahon. Let’s hope for the former. Winners: Daniel Bryan & Shane McMahon

Ronda Rousey & Kurt Angle vs. Triple H & Stephanie McMahon
Now we move from a return to a debut. Former UFC titleholder Ronda Rousey competes in her first WWE match and they are playing it safe by pitting her against Stephanie McMahon. Kurt Angle told her that the Authority signed her so they could manipulate her and she could see right through their act. Rousey has a MMA advantage, but when we last saw these four together, the Authority stood tall and Rousey was put through a table.

Prediction:
You can’t have the debut of Ronda Rousey as a loss. Winners: Ronda Rousey & Kurt Angle

Alexa Bliss (c) vs. Nia Jax – Raw Women’s Championship
Former best friends Alexa Bliss and Nia Jax saw their friendship come to an end when Jax saw a leaked video of Bliss insulting her. Bliss used her for her own benefit, which helped keep her as the Raw Women’s Champion. Bliss can no longer run away from Jax and now has to defend the title against her.

Prediction:
Bliss clearly knows she cannot compete with Jax, so a title change should happen pretty swiftly. Winner, and NEW Raw Women’s Champion: Nia Jax

Charlotte Flair (c) vs. Asuka – SmackDown Women’s Championship
After winning the first-ever Women’s Royal Rumble, Asuka had a choice to make: did she want to challenge the Raw or SmackDown Women’s Champion at WrestleMania? The Empress of Tomorrow made the bold decision to switch brands and face Charlotte Flair, who she has only previously faced in last week’s Mixed Match Challenge finals. Of course, Asuka is still undefeated heading into this match.

Prediction:
WrestleMania is the perfect place for Asuka’s undefeated streak to come to an end (just looks at WrestleMania 30 with the Undertaker), but there is more time for her to reign undefeated on the main roster before putting over someone big time. Winner, and NEW SmackDown Women’s Champion: Asuka

Brock Lesnar (c) vs. Roman Reigns – WWE Universal Championship
This whole story has been about Roman Reigns’ lack of respect for Brock Lesnar and vice versa. Reigns says that the WWE Universe deserves a Universal Champion that shows up every week instead of Lesnar, who has held the title for a year and has barely appeared since.

Prediction:
Brock Lesnar is going back to UFC, as per Dana White. This and the rumor of his contract ending heavily puts the odds in Reigns’ favor. Winner, and NEW Universal Champion: Roman Reigns

AJ Styles (c) vs. Shinsuke Nakamura – WWE Championship
To rekindle a relatively mild main roster run, Shinsuke Nakamura won the 2018 Men’s Royal Rumble match and secured a WrestleMania WWE Championship match. Before signing with WWE, both of these men’s last matches were against each other at Wrestle Kingdom for the IWGP Intercontinental Championship. Over two years later, AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura finally meet again in the main event of WrestleMania.

Prediction:
AJ Styles has been the WWE Champion for months now and he has proven that no matter where he is on the card, he is going to be the MVP. Shinsuke Nakamura has proven that elsewhere, but a win here would cement him as a main event star and as living up to the hype. Winner, and NEW WWE Champion: Shinsuke Nakamura
