New York Islanders at Florida Panthers Odds

Florida (-175) is currently favored over New York (+155) and the oddsmakers have set the Over/Under (O/U) at an even 6 goals (-110 for the over, -110 for the under).

New York is 8-7 straight up (SU) and has earned 4.9 units for moneyline bettors this season. Through 15 regular season matches, eight of its games have gone under the total, while six have gone over and just one has pushed. The Isles are 5-4 SU on the road in 2018-19.

New York has converted on 18.4 percent of its power play chances this year, a mark that’s right around league average. On the other hand, its penalty kill is ranked 18th out of 31 teams, and the team’s successfully killed off 79.2 percent of its penalties.

Boasting a .924 save percentage and 28.8 saves per game, Robin Lehner (4-4-1) has been the top option in goal for New York this season. If it chooses to give him a rest, however, New York may turn to Thomas Greiss (6-3-1 record, .940 save percentage, 1.98 goals against average).

Josh Bailey and Anders Lee will both lead the offensive attack for the visiting Islanders. Bailey has 17 points on five goals and 12 assists, and has recorded two or more points four times. Lee has five goals and eight assists to his creditand has registered a point in nine games.

Florida is 4-8 straight up (SU) and has lost 6.5 units for moneyline bettors thus far. Through 12 regular season outings, six of its games have gone under the total, while five have gone over and just one has pushed. It’s 1-4 SU at home this year.

Florida has converted on 20.4 percent of its power play chances this season, a mark that’s right around league average. On the other hand, its penalty kill is ranked 28th overall, and it’s successfully killed off 70.7 percent of all opponent power plays.

The Panthers have been penalized 4.4 times per game this season. Last year, that number was at 4.1, the sixth-highest mark in the NHL. After serving an average of 11.0 penalty minutes per game a season ago the team’s had to kill penalties for 10.9 minutes per matchup this year.

James Reimer has stopped 20.3 shots per game as the primary choice in the crease for Florida. Reimer has two wins, six losses, and one overtime loss to his credit and has recorded a mediocre 3.36 goals against average and a subpar .885 save percentage this year.

Evgenii Dadonov (seven goals, seven assists) will pace the attack for the Panthers.
