Ronda Rousey WWE Update

Ronda Rousey WWE

Ronda Rousey WWE Update- Former UFC women’s champion Ronda Rousey has embarked on her pro wrestling career with the WWE these past few months. Rousey entered the WWE with a lot of hype and she has started her career with the company’s full backing. Her insertion into the women’s division has made for compelling wrestling and her MMA fans are left to wonder if she will ever be seen fighting the UFC again.

Ronda Rousey WWE Update

The WWE has been bringing her along as far as in the ring, where she has logged just two official matches since her first TV appearance earlier this year. The WWE appears to be all-in on bringing her along and developing her for the long term.

She made her debut at the WWE’s Wrestlemania event, sharing the ring with Olympic gold Medalist Kurt Angle to face off against Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. Though she had the help of the other veteran performers, Rousey held up her end of the bargain and the WWE went ahead and inserted her into the title picture right away.

Rousey has not had an official match on the WWE television shows yet. There have been skirmishes and she has mad frequent mic appearances, and once again Rousey has not embarrassed herself. That is important in these critical days of building her character.

June 17th saw the WWE’s “Money in the Bank” PPV where Rousey challenged WWE womens’s Champion Nia Jax. The champion Jax is a “giant” athlete and a relative newcomer to the sport but the two had a good connection in the ring and they put on a stand out performance. For her first ever singles match in front of that spotlight, Rousey fought a long and competitve match.

In typical WWE fashion the match was interrupted by Alexa Bliss, who used a priveleged contract to win the belt from Rousey and Jax. Follow the story lines if you are interested but Rousey will now target Bliss and you can expect her to wind up with the belt after an extended series.

Remember, Rousey fought her first UFC fight as the full fledged, titleholding first ever 135 pound wone’s champ. They gave her the belt without even asking her to compete. At least the WWE is making her do some work first.

Her is a prediction of what you will see the WWE do with  “The Rowdy One” in the short term. First, Rousey is serving a 30 day suspension for laying waste to the RAW set and a few wrestlers and referees. Then she will enter a series with Bliss that will see her wind up with the belt on one of the bigger PPV’s later in the year.

Remember her match with Jax really leaves the two with unfinished business. Jax will be kept away from Rousey until Rousey has the belt and Rousey will answer the challenge of the giant as champion.

Rousey is getting to learn the pro-wrestling craft at the top level and she should immerse herself and focus. At this point, with so much to learn in the ring she should forget about the octagon completely. Going back to UFC can be “Brock Lesnar’s thing” and as always you can expect Rousey to march to her own path. Forget about rousey and the UFC.
