New Tennessee Titans offensive coordinator Brian Daboll is expected to implement an offensive system that could complement rookie quarterback Cam Ward’s skill set, according to head coach Robert Saleh. Daboll, known for his creative play-calling and quarterback-friendly schemes, was recently hired to bring a fresh approach to the Titans’ offense.
Saleh expressed confidence that Daboll’s philosophy will align well with Ward’s strengths. Daboll’s offensive style typically emphasizes quick passes to slot receivers and leveraging play-action passes to stretch the field vertically. These elements could make the transition to the NFL smoother for Ward, who gained recognition in college for his athleticism and ability to make quick reads under pressure.
Ward, a promising quarterback prospect, was selected by the Titans in the most recent NFL Draft. Alongside Saleh, the Titans see Ward as a key piece in their rebuilding plan. “When you look at what Brian has done in the past and what Cam brings to the table, it’s an exciting combination,” Saleh said during a recent press conference.
Under Daboll’s previous stops—including a successful stint with the Buffalo Bills—he worked effectively with young quarterbacks, most notably helping Josh Allen develop into a multi-faceted offensive leader. That experience was likely a central reason behind the Titans’ decision to bring Daboll aboard. “We believe Brian’s track record with quarterbacks speaks for itself,” Saleh added.
While the Titans’ offense is still being installed, the early feedback from training sessions has been positive. The coaching staff sees potential for Ward to develop quickly within the structured, yet adaptable system Daboll intends to build. The goal is to create a dynamic offense that takes advantage of Ward’s mobility and strong arm, while also maintaining consistency in execution.
As preparations continue for the upcoming season, all eyes will be on how the partnership between Daboll and Ward evolves. If the early alignment between philosophy and skill set holds, the Titans could see significant strides on the offensive side of the ball in the coming months.
