KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid declined to say whether he will attend the much-anticipated wedding of tight end Travis Kelce and pop star Taylor Swift, saying “Can’t talk about it, can’t talk about it,” and laughing during Thursday’s news conference.
Reid said Kelce has been with the team for most of the offseason, if not the entire period, and that he completed the mandatory camp and “did a nice job there,” calling it good to have him back and rolling.
Asked about any distractions related to the wedding, Reid said he saw none and compared Kelce’s role to his own marriage, noting that when he got married his wife handled the arrangements and he largely followed her lead.
Kelce spent the week at the Chiefs’ training facility taking part in the team’s mandatory minicamp, catching passes from quarterback Patrick Mahomes. The couple have planned for months to marry before the Chiefs’ training camp, which is expected to start in late July.
According to Page Six, the wedding is planned for midtown Manhattan inside Madison Square Garden. Kelce was not alongside Swift during Game 4 of the NBA Finals; Swift sat courtside as the New York Knicks rallied for a 107-106 victory over the San Antonio Spurs, the largest comeback win in NBA playoff history. With a win Saturday, the Knicks would clinch their first championship since 1973. A few weeks earlier, Kelce and Swift sat courtside during the Eastern Conference finals, him supporting the Cleveland Cavaliers and her watching the Knicks, who won that series 4-0.
