Golf Undigested Podcast – Episode 32

The Golf Undigested Podcast with Clark Burroughs, a former PGA Tour player and proud Ohio State Buckeye, dishes out his latest news and musings in the world of golf. For all the latest golf odds and predictions, never miss an episode of Burroughs’ insightful advice and hilarious observations into the greatest game of all, GOLF!

Burroughs starts off podcast #32 by taking us through last week’s action at the Open Championship where we saw one of the greatest head-to- head battles between Phil Mickelson and eventual champion Henrik Stenson. Mickelson trailed by one shot heading to the final round, shoots a bogey-free 65 and loses! Stenson makes 10 birdies, shoots a final round 63 and wins his first major championship. Jack Nicklaus said that is was the best battle he has ever seen between two front runners in a major championship.

Burroughs gives his bold predictions for next week’s PGA Championship and is joined by his brother as they discuss the upcoming Olympics.

One GO and one NO for the RBC CANADIAN OPEN – PGA Tour –

GO: Jon Rahm +5000 is making his fourth start on the PGA Tour and is well on his way to securing playing privileges for next year. The former No. 1 ranked amateur started his professional career in style with a third place finish at the Quicken Loans National in which he was in contention all the way to the end. The Spaniard needs one more good finish to climb into the top 125 and earn exempt status on the PGA Tour.

NO: Just a few years ago, Hunter Mahan +12050 was one of the best players in the world.

Now the veteran is facing adversity for the first time in his career and is on the verge of losing his status on the PGA Tour. In 18 events this year he has made eight cuts and missed ten, has only one top 25 finish and sits at No. 176 in the FedEx Cup standings and even worse at No. 186 in the current world rankings, Mahan has lost his game!

Our host wraps up Podcast #32 by discussing the state of the upcoming Olympics and next week’s PGA Championship.
