Houston Texans vs. Tennessee Titans Betting Preview

The Texans are 0-1 against the spread (ATS) and have lost 1.0 unit so far. The team has posted an O/U record of 0-1. The Titans are down 1.1 units for moneyline bettors this season. They’re 0-1 ATS and have an O/U record of 1-0.

The Texans have gone 0-1 straight up (SU) and they have yet to face any AFC South opponents this year. The Titans are 0-1 SU overall and also 0-0 SU against divisional foes.

The Texans are still seeking their first win after a 27-20 loss to New England last week. Deshaun Watson completed only 17 passes on 34 attempts for 176 yards, along with a score and a pick. Lamar Miller (98 yards on 20 rush attempts) led the running attack in the loss. DeAndre Hopkins (eight receptions, 78 yards) and Bruce Ellington (four catches, 37 yards, one TD) handled the receiving duties.

Tennessee just dropped a 27-20 game to Miami in Week 1. The defense allowed the Dolphins to rush for 120 yards on 29 attempts. Kenny Stills put up a good showing in the win for Miami, recording 106 yards and two touchdowns on four catches. As a group, the Titans collectively completed 20-of-38 passes for 220 yards and three interceptions. Blaine Gabbert went 11-for-22 for 117 yards and one interception while Marcus Mariota was nine-of-16 for 103 yards and two interceptions. Dion Lewis (75 yards on 16 rush attempts, one TD) and Derrick Henry (26 yards on 10 carries) mounted the ground game in the defeat as Corey Davis (six receptions, 62 yards) and Lewis (five catches, 35 yards) led the receiving corps.

It appears that the Titans might have the more disruptive lines up front, since their offensive line yielded only 35 sacks last season while the D-line logged 43 sacks. The Texans O-line gave up 54 sacks last year and their defense sacked opposing QBs just 32 times..
