Obviously, we are in that part of the MLB off-season where things are about to get wild. Especially entering 2020, MLB insider Jon Morosi says that one can expect a big off-season trade.

Notably, at least one player among Mookie Betts, Francisco Lindor, or Kris Bryant will be traded this winter. This is according to a Morosi tweet that broke on Monday morning. Therefore, here is that tweet.

At least one player among the Mookie Betts/Francisco Lindor/Kris Bryant group will be traded this offseason, in the opinion of multiple @MLB team execs I’ve checked with over the last 24 hours. @MLBNetwork

Already, we have heard whispers of the Red Sox moving Betts to free up some future payroll. Furthermore, the Los Angeles Dodgers have been rumored to do a swap involving Lindor for current shortstop Corey Seager.

Now, Bryant’s name has been added to the trio. Of course of the three, Bryant is a little bit surprising.

One school of thought has the Cubs nearing the end of their current window to win another title. Moreover, Bryant will be eligible for free agency in the 2022 offseason. Still, if the Cubs elect to move him now, they could get a massive return because they would offer the new club two years of control over Bryant if he’s dealt.

In regards to Lindor – the Cleveland Indians have gotten nowhere with offering the star shortstop a long-term extension. Recently, Terry Pluto of Cleveland.com said he doubts that the Indians trade Lindor this off-season.

“[Cleveland believes it] can knock off Minnesota and win the Central Division. [It knows] Lindor is two seasons away from free agency. There will still be a strong market for him at the mid-season trading deadline. The general managers meetings are coming soon. Rumors will fly. Teams will approach [Cleveland] for Lindor, and [Cleveland] will listen.”

With that being said, there is no better gauge to what will happen than that of current front office executives. Morosi’s tweet is based directly off talking to those folks.

Right now, it’s a wait and see period. In a short time we should start to see something more firm and concrete take shape as baseball approaches the December Winter Meetings. Typically, that’s when the framework is laid for a huge trade.
