NFL Week 9 Opening Odds Report

Jake Roth-USA TODAY Sports

We’re past the halfway point of the 2018 NFL season. We didn’t have a lot of close contests in Week 8, so hopefully Week 9 provides a little more drama. It definitely should — at least on paper — as the Aaron Rodgers-Tom Brady matchup as well as the Los Angeles Rams-New Orleans Saints showdown are very tantalizing.

Let’s take a look at the NFL Week 9 opening lines:

Oakland Raiders at San Francisco

Opening line: 49ers -3

The Raiders continue to be a mess but this week they’ll face a team that’s equally as bad when they visit the 49ers. San Francisco is coming off a loss to lowly Arizona.

Detroit Lions at Minnesota Vikings

Opening line: Vikings -6.5

The Lions had been playing well entering last week’s game but they flopped at home to Seattle. They’re in a tough spot visiting the Vikings in a must-win situation.

Kansas City Chiefs at Cleveland Browns

Opening line: Chiefs -8

The bottom has fallen out for the Browns as they’ve lost three straight. What’s worse is that two of those were by 15 or more and it seems like that streak could be extended this week.

Atlanta Falcons at Washington Redskins

Opening line: Redskins -2.5

The Redskins have won three in a row and now face another winnable game as the Falcons visit. Atlanta is off a bye but they’ve struggled this season as their team has suffered a slew of injuries.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Carolina Panthers

Opening line: Panthers -6

The crumbling Bucs visit the Panthers this week. Keep an eye out to see if it’s Ryan Fitzpatrick or Jameis Winston who is starting this week. Winston was benched after throwing four interceptions in Cincinnati.

Pittsburgh Steelers at Baltimore Ravens

Opening line: Ravens -3

The Ravens season might be on the line here. They moved to 3-1 when they beat the Steelers in Pittsburgh in Week 4. They’ve lost three of four since and need a win to stay in the playoff race.

Houston Texans at Denver Broncos

Opening line: Broncos -2.5

The Texans have won five in a row but they’re still faced with an air of skepticism. That’s why they’re a 2.5-point underdog at Denver, who has lost five of six.

Los Angeles Chargers at Seattle Seahawks

Opening line: Seahawks -2

The Seahawks have won four of five and looked very crisp. Their running game is rolling as they’ve compiled 331 rushing yards in their last two games.

Los Angeles Rams at New Orleans Saints

Opening line: Rams -1

The game of the week features two of the top teams in the NFC. We could see one of the highest totals in NFL history in this game – possibly landing near or above 60.

Green Bay Packers at New England Patriots

Opening line: Patriots -6

One of the other signature games of Week 9 is the Aaron Rodgers-Tom Brady matchup. However, Green Bay is just 3-3-1 on the season. They are 2-3 in their last five with the two wins coming against Buffalo and San Francisco.

Tennessee Titans at Dallas Cowboys

Opening line: Cowboys -4.5

At the end of September, the Titans were 3-1. At the end of October, the Titans were 3-4. They need a win in the worst way to get back on track.

Other NFL Week 9 Opening Lines

Chicago Bears at Buffalo Bills

Opening line: NO LINE

New York Jets at Miami Dolphins

Opening line: -3
