The Temple Owls (14-3) look to prolong their eight-game home winning streak in a matchup against the Penn Quakers (10-6) at Liacouras Center. The game starts at 5 p.m. ET on Saturday, January 19, 2019, and will air on CBS Sports Network.

Penn Quakers vs. Temple Owls ATS Prediction

In the Quakers’ last game, they were beaten by the Princeton Tigers, 62-53. One of Princeton’s largest strengths was their ability to convert at the free throw line. They were 19-21 (90.5 percent), while the Quakers were just 7-13 (53.8 percent). AJ Brodeur led Penn in scoring with 16 points on 6-for-17 shooting.

The Owls were victorious over the East Carolina Pirates in their last game, 85-74. The Owls knocked down 18 of their 25 free throws (72.0 percent) and had an effective field goal percentage of 0.588 (above their season average of 0.503). With 12 points and 12 rebounds, Temple’s Ernest Aflakpui played well.

After the Owls won the lone contest against the Quakers last season, 60-51, this will be the first matchup of the year between these two teams. Temple had a better free throw rate (0.216 vs. 0.150). Penn, on the other hand, had a much better offensive rebounding percentage (33.3 vs. 25.7).

There’s a decent chance that Penn struggles to create turnovers. Temple ranks 40th in the nation at avoiding errors (turnover percentage of 16.6 percent), while Penn forces the 164th-most turnovers (19.9 percent).
