South Alabama Jaguars vs. New Orleans Privateers Betting Prediction

The Jaguars are trying to rebound after their 101-58 loss to the No. 11 Auburn Tigers in their last matchup. Auburn’s turnover percentage was their largest strength over South Alabama. The Tigers had a rate of 14.0, while the Jaguars posted a mark of 28.3. Rodrick Sikes was the top scorer from either team with 25 points on 8-for-18 shooting.

The last time UNO played, they dismantled the Spring Hill Badgers, 95-66. The Privateers had a much better free throw rate (0.318 vs. 0.140) and had a much better turnover percentage (18.4 vs. 31.8). Ezekiel Charles was the game’s top scorer with 17 points on 6-for-9 shooting from the field.

The Jaguars won the sole game against the Privateers last season, 55-52. The Jaguars had a much better free throw rate (0.357 vs. 0.137) and had a much better turnover percentage (22.9 vs. 28.3).

New Orleans might have trouble scoring as they clash against one of the nation’s best defenses. South Alabama ranks 59th in defensive efficiency, while the Privateers rank 266th in offensive efficiency dating back to the 2017-18 season. Ball security could be troublesome for the Jaguars. They rank 325th at avoiding errors (turnover percentage of 21.2 percent), while the Privateers have forced the fifth-most turnovers in the country (opponents’ turnover percentage of 23.3 percent).
