It will be a battle between AmEast opponents when the Binghamton Bearcats (6-17, 2-6 AmEast) welcome the Stony Brook Seawolves (18-5, 6-2 AmEast) to the Events Center. The game is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. ET on Wednesday, February 6, 2019.

The Seawolves will be looking for a similar result after defeating the Hartford Hawks in their last game, 86-77. The Seawolves, who came into the game averaging an offensive rebounding percentage of 34.2, had a phenomenal mark of 35.7 and held the Hawks to an effective field goal percentage of 0.421 (below their season average of 0.530). With 28 points on 11-for-16 shooting, Elijah Olaniyi was the top scorer from either team.

In the Bearcats’ previous game, they fell to the Albany Great Danes, 64-50. Albany’s rebounding was their largest strength. The Great Danes had 10 offensive rebounds and 42 total rebounds, while the Bearcats had four and 34, respectively. With 10 points and seven rebounds, Calistus Anyichie had a solid game for Binghamton.

Binghamton might struggle to score as they clash against one of the NCAA’s best defenses. Stony Brook ranks 51st in defensive efficiency while the Bearcats rank 327th in offensive efficiency. Moreover, the Seawolves rank 39th in offensive rebounding percentage (34.3 percent), while the Bearcats rank 317th in defensive rebounding percentage (67.8 percent).

This is the second game of the season between these two squads. In the first, Akwasi Yeboah scored a game-high 13 points and the Seawolves beat the Bearcats 59-46. He also recorded 13 rebounds and six assists. The Seawolves had a much better free throw rate (0.217 vs. 0.097) and had a much better effective field goal percentage (0.533 vs. 0.323).
