Washington Wizards vs. Golden State Warriors ATS Prediction

The Wizards come in on a high note after edging the Portland Trail Blazers in their last matchup, 125-124, as 4.5-point underdogs. The game’s total points (249) finished well over the O/U total of 228. Washington’s 7.6 turnover percentage was their biggest strength over Portland, who had a mark of 13.5. Washington was led by Bradley Beal, who finished with 25 points, eight rebounds and seven assists.

In the Warriors’ last game, they dismantled the Phoenix Suns, 123-103, easily covering as 12.5-point favorites. The total points for the game (226) came in just under the O/U total of 227. The Warriors forced 21 turnovers and had an effective field goal percentage of 0.591 (above their season average of 0.533). Stephen Curry was the top scorer from either team with 29 points on 11-for-18 shooting.

Golden State should have the edge on the offensive side of the ball. Dating back to last season, the Warriors rank first in offensive efficiency, while the Wizards rank 15th in defensive efficiency.

Since last season, the Wizards have had records of 44-41 straight up (SU) and 48-49-1 against the spread (ATS). Vegas has had a tendency to set the total low when Washington is involved since last season as 61.2 percent of their games have gone over the projected point total.

The Warriors, on the other hand, have records of 61-25 SU and 52-48-3 ATS since last season. Vegas has been fairly accurate when setting the O/U total of Golden State games over that same stretch with 56 unders compared to 46 overs.

The Warriors won both meetings against the Wizards last season. In the most recent contest, Golden State won 109-101. Golden State did a terrific job of getting and making free throws (25-30; 83.3 percent). Washington, meanwhile, had a much better offensive rebounding percentage (35.3 vs. 8.3).
