The Corvallis Super Regional pits a pair of No. 1 regional seeds with Oregon State hosting Minnesota, the champions of the Big 10 and Minneapolis Regional. While Minnesota is new to the scene, they are no pushover and won’t back down to the Beavers.

Series Odds

BetDSI Sportsbook has released odds, which you can view below, for this matchup.

Minnesota Golden Gophers +320

Oregon State Beavers -460

Series Preview

Oregon State breezed through its regional averaging 11.7 runs per game while starting pitchers went 3-0 with a 1.22 ERA, 20 strikeouts and six walks in 22 2/3 innings.

Leading Oregon State in the regional were two MLB Draft first rounders and a CBA pick, infielder Nick Madrigal (Fourth overall, Chicago White Sox) batting .538 with 5 RBIs and a home run, outfielder Trevor Larnach (20th overall, Minnesota Twins) .400 with an RBI and infielder Cadyn Grenier (68th overall, Baltimore Orioles) with a home run and 2 RBIs.

Minnesota has some pop in its lineup as well as the Gophers averaged 8.7 runs per game during the regional.

They are led by Colorado Rockies third round pick, shortstop Terrin Vavra. Vavra batted .500 in the regional tournament with 4 RBIs.

Prediction

If Minnesota is going to advance the College World Series, it’ll need to get to Oregon State in the first two games and not go into a third as the Gophers don’t have the pitching depth to go three games with the Beavers.

Again, Oregon State is the deeper team and will knockout Minnesota at home and advance to another College World Series.
