The Nashville Super Regional features two teams who were the No. 2 seeds in the regional with Vanderbilt winning the Clemson Regional and Mississippi State advancing out of the Florida State Regional.

Series Preview
Vanderbilt used a great starting in Game 1 against good St. John’s team and ran with it as it beat Clemson twice to go 3-0 in the regional, 4-3 and 19-6.
Mississippi State had the bats going, but needed them a lot as the Bulldogs dropped Game 1 to Oklahoma 20-10 before battling back by eliminating host Florida State 3-2, Samford 9-8 and then beating the Sooners in back-to-back games 13-5 and 8-1.
The Bulldogs will look to ace and third round pick in the MLB Draft by the Chicago White Sox, Konnor Pilkington.
Pilkington struggled in his start against the Oklahoma, but he’ll look to shake off the outing. If he can the Bulldogs could get out to the early lead.
Vanderbilt might not have a standout ace, although Drake Fellows pitched a gem against the Red Storm in the regional opener, the Commadores have a great bullpen led by Reid Schaller and Chandler Day, both of which drafted by the Washington Nationals in the third and seventh rounds respectively.
Prediction
While Mississippi State has an ace, Vanderbilt has a guy in Fellows that has proven he can match anyone toe-for-toe on the rubber and the Commadores can pitch their best two pitchers on any given day out of the bullpen.
It should also be noted that these two teams met in a series already during the SEC season with the Commadores taking three games in Starksville and not much should change in Nashville.
