Baltimore Orioles at Tampa Bay Rays Betting Preview 05/27/18

The Baltimore Orioles will be facing off against their divisional rival Tampa Bay Rays at Tropicana Field. The action will get going at 1:10 p.m. ET and fans hoping to watch it can tune in to Mid-Atlantic Sports Network.

Baltimore Orioles vs. Tampa Bay Rays Odds

Oddsmakers are listing Tampa Bay (-110) as the favorite over Baltimore (+100). Gamblers can bet on the game’s total with odds posted at +105 for over 8.5 runs and -125 for under 8.5. You can also bet on the game’s runline with the odds sitting at -210 for the Orioles +1.5 runs and +175 for the Rays -1.5.

The Tampa Bay hitters are putting up 4.2 runs per outing, including 4.1 per game against divisional foes and 2.8 per game over their last five. The team has a slash-line of .250/.343/.340 over its last five matchups and is 2-3 SU during that span.

First baseman C.J. Cron and catcher Wilson Ramos have led the Rays’ hitters so far. Cron is slashing .270/.326/.485 with 11 home runs, 30 RBIs and 29 runs scored, and Ramos has put up a line of .305/.344/.464 with six homers, 25 RBIs and 14 runs scored.

Compared to his total season slash line of .248/.305/.437, Cron seemed to enjoy hitting right-handed pitchers at home in 2017, slashing .294/.371/.492 over 143 such plate appearances.

The Orioles have lost 12.4 units and are 13-20 ATS when facing a righty starter this season. The over has hit in 14 of those games, compared to 18 that’ve gone under in such games. On the other hand, the Rays have lost 5.0 units and are 13-18 ATS when facing a right-handed starting pitcher. The over’s hit in 17 of those games, as opposed to 13 which went under the total.
