Cleveland Indians vs. Boston Red Sox Betting Preview 08/20/18

Cleveland Indians at Boston Red Sox Odds

Vegas is listing Boston (-110) as the favorite over Cleveland (+100). Gamblers can wager on the game’s total with odds sitting at -115 for over 8.5 runs and -105 for under 8.5. The game’s current runline odds stand at -210 for picking the Indians +1.5 runs and +175 for the Red Sox -1.5 runs.

The Red Sox are 88-37 straight up (SU) and 76-48 against the spread (ATS). The team has gained 35.7 units for moneyline bettors and 28.6 units (ATS). Boston has covered the spread five times in its last seven games and the under has hit in four of those seven. The Indians have gone 71-52 SU this year and are 59-63 ATS. The Red Sox are sending righty Rick Porcello (15-5, 4.04 ERA) to the mound. Porcello has 150 strikeouts and 36 walks to his name, as well as a 1.15 WHIP. Porcello did not record a start against the Indians in 2017.

Shortstop Francisco Lindor and third baseman Jose Ramirez have led Cleveland’s hitters. Lindor is slashing .292/.372/.550 with 29 home runs, 76 RBIs, 102 runs and 19 stolen bases, while Ramirez (.300/.412/.632) is up to 37 homers, 91 RBIs, 86 runs and 27 stolen bases.
