College Football Power Rankings For Week 11

College Football

And so another bubble bursts in terms of the College Football Playoff. Or, should we say, a number of bubbles burst this weekend. The Ohio State Buckeyes collapses on the road at Iowa. Although they were favored by 20 points, they were completely blown out. While that created an opportunity for Penn State to step up, they actually also flopped. They failed at Michigan State, losing outright as a 10-point favorite.

While those teams stumbled, a number of others made ground. Many people thought the Miami Hurricanes were a phony but they crushed the Virginia Tech Hokies to move closer to the ACC Championship. Clemson won their Top 25 matchup with North Carolina State. Oklahoma took care of business in the Bedlam series, going into Stillwater and beating the Oklahoma State Cowboys.

With so many other ranked teams taken a loss this week, Georgia and Notre Dame profit the most off their exits, while the rest of the list is just trying to keep pace in case something happens. That being said, the rest of the country is still trying to catch up to Alabama.

1. Alabama Crimson Tide

Last Week: 1

National Championship Odds: -200

The Crimson Tide (9-0, 6-0 SEC) got a big game from Jalen Hurts in a 24-10 win over LSU at home as he was 11-of-24 for 183 yards and a touchdown in the air, and he had 14 carries for 44 yards and a score on the ground. LSU actually outgained Alabama 306-299, but the Crimson Tide forced one turnover and got stops when they needed to, which was huge. The Crimson Tide will visit Mississippi State on Saturday.

2. Georgia Bulldogs

Last Week: 3

National Championship Odds: +500

The Bulldogs (9-0, 6-0 SEC) shut down South Carolina in a 24-10 home win, rushing for 242 yards, which allowed Georgia to hold on to the ball for 38:22. Jake Fromm was 16-of-22 for 196 yards and a pair of scores, while Nick Chubbs had 20 carries for 102 yards for the Bulldogs, who also scored two turnovers on the day. The Bulldogs will head to Auburn for a huge game on Saturday.

3. Notre Dame Fighting Irish

Last Week: 5

National Championship Odds: +800

The Fighting Irish (8-1) held off Wake Forest for a 48-37 win at home as Brandon Winbush was 15-of-30 for 280 yards and a touchdown, and he ran 12 times for 110 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Chase Claypool had nine catches for 180 yards and a score for the Fighting Irish, who gave up 587 yards, but they put up 710 yards. The Fighting Irish will prepare for a big trip to Miami on Saturday.

4. Clemson Tigers

Last Week: 4

National Championship Odds: +800

The Tigers (8-1, 6-1 ACC) battled hard for a 38-31 win at North Carolina State as Kelly Bryant was 20-of-38 for 191 yards, a touchdown and a pick, while he also had 20 carries for 88 yards and two touchdowns. Tavier Feaster had seven carries for 105 yards and a touchdown for the Tigers, who forced two turnovers and outscored the Wolfpack 21-10 in the second half. They’ll host Florida State on Saturday.

5. Oklahoma Sooners

Last Week: 8

National Championship Odds: +1000

The Sooners (8-1, 5-1 Big 12) came out on top in a wild 62-52 “Bedlam” win at rival Oklahoma State as they allowed 661 yards, but put up 785 yards of their own and forced three turnovers (while having two of their own). Baker Mayfield was 24-of-36 for 598 yards, five touchdowns and a pair of picks, and Marquise Brown had nine catches for 265 yards and two touchdowns for the Sooners, who outscored Oklahoma State 10-0 in the third quarter and will now host TCU on Saturday.

6. Wisconsin Badgers

Last Week: 7

National Championship Odds: +2000

The Badgers (9-0, 6-0 Big Ten) outscored Indiana 21-0 in the fourth quarter of a 45-17 road win as Alex Hornibrook was 13-of-20 for 158 yards, a pair of touchdowns and an interception. Jonathan Taylor had 29 carries for 183 yards and a score for the Badgers, who are also major profiteers when it comes to Ohio State and Penn State losing as they’re the top team in the Big Ten now. The Badgers will host Iowa on Saturday.

7. Miami Hurricanes

Last Week: —

National Championship Odds: +2000

The Hurricanes (8-0, 6-0 ACC) overcame three interceptions from Malik Rosier in a 28-10 home win over Virginia Tech, as he was 10-of-21 for 193 yards and two touchdowns, and he also ran 13 times for 84 yards and a score. The Hurricanes forced four turnovers and held Virginia Tech to 299 yards, and they have a huge chance to move up in the rankings this Saturday as they host their old rivals from Notre Dame.

8. Washington Huskies

Last Week: 10

National Championship Odds: +2000

The Huskies (8-1, 5-1 Pac-12) allowed an early field goal, and then pounced for 17 second-quarter points in a 38-3 thrashing of Oregon at home. Jake Browning was 11-of-19 for 204 yards, two touchdowns and a pick, while Myles Gaskin had 17 carries for 123 yards and a score for the Huskies, who forced a pair of turnovers and are still the pick of the litter in the Pac-12. They’ll try to keep that going as the Huskies travel to Stanford on Friday night.

9. TCU Horned Frogs

Last Week: —

National Championship Odds: +5000

The Horned Frogs (8-1, 5-1 Big 12) bounced back from their first loss of the season with a 24-7 win at home over Texas as Kenny Hill was 18-of-26 for 146 yards, and Darius Anderson ran 18 times for 99 yards. TCU held Texas to 263 yards and ran for 177 yards to nine for the Longhorns, and that allowed the Horned Frogs to control the game. It was the result they needed as the Horned Frogs get ready for a big trip to Oklahoma that will have a major hand in deciding the Big 12.

10. Auburn Tigers

Last Week: —

National Championship Odds: +5000

The Tigers (7-2, 5-1 SEC) got three touchdown passes from Jarrett Stidham in a 42-27 win over Texas A&M on the road as he was also 20-of-27 for 268 yards. Kerryon Johnson had 29 carries for 145 yards and a score for the Tigers, who ran for 228 yards and racked up 496 yards in total, and they had the ball for 35:44. Auburn will now wrap up the regular season with three home games in a row, starting with a visit from Georgia on Saturday (their final home game happens to be the “Iron Bowl” against Alabama).
