DEAN & DELUCA Invitational DFS Lineup

The PGA Tour will wrap up its Texas swing with the DEAN & DELUCA Invitational from the Colonial Country Club in Fort Werth, Texas this weekend. We took a long look at course histories, current form and player values to produce what should be a successful lineup for this week’s DraftKings tournaments. Here is a look at the optimal lineup for this week’s DraftKings PGA fantasy competitions.

Jordan Spieth, $12,000

Spieth is coming off back-to-back missed cuts but he is impossible to overlook based on his overall talent and course history. Spieth is the defending champion at the DEAN & DELUCA Invitational and he will be a hometown favorite once again in Texas. Spieth might not be in excellent form right now but he is a horse for the course at Colonial and could be overdue for a bounce back performance. Spieth will likely be playing with an added sense of urgency this week so he is worth investing in when it comes to DraftKings PGA fantasy competitions.

Jason Dufner, $9,000

Dufner is another horse for the course this week at Colonial. There might not be a more reliable option on the board this week. Dufner has produced top-six finishes in his past five trips to Colonial and doesn’t have a missed cut at this tournament. Dufner’s consistency as a ball striker and his par-four scoring are a big part of what has made him so good at this course. The fact that he is available at just $9K makes Dufner an outstanding option for this week’s DraftKings competitions.

Adam Hadwin, $8,400

Hadwin has struggled with consistency since finishing sixth at the Arnold Palmer Invitational but he should be an excellent option this week. Hadwin secured his first PGA Tour win at the Valspar Championship back in March and he has three top-six finishes already this season. Hadwin hasn’t been at his best since Bay Hill but the potential is there for him to bounce back performance this week. Hadwin placed 22nd at the DEAN & DELUCA Invitational last year and will be looking to improve on that result. At just $8.4K, Hadwin makes a lot of sense in DraftKings competitions this week.

Nick Taylor, $7,300

Taylor is absolutely on fire entering this week’s DEAN & DELUCA Invitational. Taylor has produced four straight top-25 finishes including back-to-back top-10 results. Taylor’s game profiles perfectly for this course and the reality is that his potential might be even higher this week as he competes in a relatively watered down field. At just $7.3K, Taylor is an outstanding option in this week’s DraftKings tournaments.

Blayne Barber, $6,900

With under $14K left over to make our final two selections in DraftKings competitions, we are left banking on two potential sleeper picks. Barner has looked good at two corollary courses including placing 16th at Sawgrass and 26th at Harbour Town. Barber placed 34th at last year’s DEAN & DELUCA Invitational so if he can even duplicate that performance then he should be a reliable sleeper pick in this week’s DraftKings competitions.

Boo Weekley, $6,400

With $6.4K left over to address the final spot on our roster our options are somewhat limited. However, Weekley makes a lot of sense as a smart value option with decent upside. Weekley has struggled on the PGA Tour this season but he knows how to play Colonial and he won this event back in 2013. Weekley might not have what it takes to secure another plaid jacket but his name is on the wall opposite the first tee and he has the potential to deliver a decent result as a smart sleeper pick for this week’s DraftKings PGA fantasy competitions. We don’t need him to win the event but if he can finish in the Top 25 or Top 15, that would help our cause quite a bit.
