Hell in a Cell Recap: Charlotte Wins Women’s Title

If you read the title of this article, you know that Hell in a Cell is the talk of the day. Featured tonight are three Hell in a Cell matches, for the Universal, United States, and Raw Women’s Championships. In what’s being advertised as a “triple main event,” every match has the opportunity to amaze.

Lince Dorado, Sin Cara, & Cedric Alexander vs. Drew Gulak, Tony Nese, & Ariya Daivari
While the Cruiserweight Championship is being defended later tonight, a good portion of the division still gets time to shine on a WWE Pay-Per-View.

After tons of high-octane action, Cedric Alexander hits Drew Gulak with the Lumbar Check to give his team the win. Winners, Lince Dorado, Sin Cara, & Cedric Alexander

Predicted Winners: Lince Dorado, Sin Cara, & Cedric Alexander (1/1)

Roman Reigns (c) vs. Rusev (w/Lana) – United States Championship (Hell in a Cell)
Roman Reigns started his quest for the United States Championship by crashing Rusev’s wedding celebration, and he would end up winning the title at Clash of Champions. The Bulgarian Brute looks to win the title for the third time by cashing in his rematch clause for tonight.

Reigns manages to escape Rusev’s Accolade attempt, and hits a spear that launches both of them off of the steel steps and onto the ring canvas. Winner, and STILL United States Champion: Roman Reigns

Predicted Winner: Roman Reigns (2/2)

Bayley vs. Dana Brooke
Bayley surprisingly lost to Dana Brooke a couple weeks ago due to an injured arm. After some called the match a fluke, Brooke gave Bayley a rematch. Instead of a traditional match, Brooke picked on Bayley’s injury and defeated her in an arm wrestling match.

Brooke targets the arm through the entire match, but it wasn’t enough. Bayley manages to hit the Bayley-to-Belly on Dana Brooke to get revenge and get the win. Winner: Bayley

Predicted Winner: Bayley (3/3)

Enzo Amore & Big Cass vs. Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson
A couple weeks ago, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson attacked Enzo and Big Cass from behind to spark their destruction of the tag team division. A couple singles matches and an insane pre-match promo later, Don Parmesan and Muscles Marinara look to take it to Andy and the Big Gal.

Enzo Amore spends too much time showboating, and Gallows hits him with a nasty superkick. Andy gets tagged in and Smacktalker Skywalker eats a Magic Killer and a pinfall. Winners: Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson

Predicted Winners: Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson (4/4)

Kevin Owens (c) vs. Seth Rollins – WWE Universal Championship (Hell in a Cell)
Last week on Raw, Kevin Owens gave himself the edge in this match by powerbombing Seth Rollins onto the ring apron. This put Sami Zayn out of action for months, and John Cena out of action for weeks. Seth Rollins is still healthy enough to compete in this match, but there is no doubt that he is not 100%.

Owens gets a fire extinguisher, and “accidentally” sprays the referee in the eyes. While the referee changes, Chris Jericho takes advantage of the opening and locks himself inside the cell with Owens, Rollins, and the new referee. This puts Rollins in the same situation he was in last week.

Jericho helps Kevin Owens assault Rollins, and the Universal Champion picks up the victory after powerbombing Rollins through two steel chairs. Winner, and STILL Universal Champion: Kevin Owens

Predicted Winner: Kevin Owens (5/5)

TJ Perkins (c) vs. Brian Kendrick – WWE Cruiserweight Championship
Brian Kendrick lost the Cruiserweight Classic, lost a Cruiserweight Championship match, and lost to Rich Swann last Monday. Kendrick believes that this match is his last chance, and he even resorted to asking Perkins to lost the match on purpose. If Kendrick loses tonight, who knows what he will do next?

Brian Kendrick fakes an injury, and suckers Perkins in to lock in the Captain’s Hook to pick up the submission victory. Winner, and NEW Cruiserweight Champion (via submission): Brian Kendrick

Predicted Winner: Brian Kendrick (6/6)

The New Day (c) vs. Sheamus & Cesaro – Raw Tag Team Championships
Sheamus and Cesaro hate each other, but they managed to pick up a non-title victory over the New Day last week. This match tonight is a result of them tying a Best of Seven Series, and perhaps they can defeat Big E and Xavier Woods tonight.

While the referee is watching Cesaro’s Sharpshooter on Xavier Woods, Sheamus hits Big E with Francesca II. In retaliation, Kofi Kingston hits Sheamus with Trouble in Paradise, and the referee saw that right before Woods tapped out, leading to a disqualification. However, The New Day still have the tag team titles. Winners (via disqualification): Sheamus & Cesaro

Predicted Winners: The New Day (6/7)

Sasha Banks (c) vs. Charlotte – Raw Women’s Championship (Hell in a Cell)
For the first time ever, women will close a Pay-Per-View, and also for the first time ever, women will compete inside Hell in a Cell.

Before the match starts, Charlotte sneak attacks Sasha Banks and a brawl ensues outside the ring. Referees and EMTs start taking her to the back, but she fights past them and starts the match.

Charlotte ragdolls Sasha Banks onto a table twice, then follows it up with Natural Selection to end a brutal Hell in a Cell match and to become a 3-time Women’s Champion. Winner: Charlotte

Predicted Winner: Sasha Banks (6/8)
