The No. 8 Seton Hall Pirates defeated the No. 9 NC State Wolfpack, 94-83, on Thursday, March 15, in the 2018 NCAA Tournament’s Round of 64. NC State was a popular upset pick, but Seton Hall led from wire to wire. Seton Hall entered the game as a two-point favorite. The game went over the total of 157.5.

The Pirates will move on to face Kansas — which cruised past No. 16 seed Pennsylvania Thursday — in the Round of 32 on Saturday in Wichita, Kansas. Odds for that matchup will soon be released by BetDSI Sportsbook. We anticipate Kansas will be a double-digit favorite against Seton Hall.

Khadeen Carrington paced the Pirates with 26 points; he went 3 for 5 from three-point range. Myles Powell added 19 points and nine rebounds. Guard Allerik Freeman was sensational in defeat. He scored 36 points for the Wolfpack. NC State struggled at the free throw line, as the Wolfpack shot 16 for 27 from the charity stripe. Seton Hall, meanwhile, shot 31 for 39 and clinched the game with strong free-throw shooting down the stretch.

Seton Hall’s odds to win the NCAA Tournament were slim, with BetDSI pegging the Pirates at +20000 odds to cut down the nets in San Antonio. NC State’s odds were just a hair slimmer at +21000.
