NFL Betting: Recapping The 2018 NFL Draft Props

NFL

The 2018 NFL Draft is through the first round and it was quite the wild ride. BetDSI Sportsbook posted a slew of props to bet on and now we’ll recap the results.

The Cleveland Browns had the first pick in the draft and they went with Baker Mayfield. While he was a long shot early on in the process, he eventually closed as the clear-cut favorite. While many people expected a slew of quarterbacks to go off the board right after, that didn’t happen.

While the New York Giants went with running back Saquon Barkley, the New York Jets went back to quarterback with Sam Darnold. However, that would be the last quarterback in the Top 5. The Buffalo Bills traded up to select Josh Allen at No. 7. After that, the Arizona Cardinals traded up to No. 10 to select Josh Rosen. It was the first time ever that four quarterbacks were taken in the Top 10.

There was a lot of moving and shaking as a total of seven trades were completed in the first round. The most notable veteran moved was Pittsburgh Steelers wideout Martavis Bryant. He’s had some suspension issues and the Steelers had seen enough. They shipped him off to Oakland for a third-round pick. That will leave them with a wide receiving corps that includes Bryant, Michael Crabtree and Jordy Nelson.

A lot of people thought Odell Beckham Jr. might get moved but the Giants had no inclination. It wasn’t even a topic of conversation throughout the draft.

Overall, it was a night for the quarterbacks as five were selected in the first round. The Baltimore Ravens traded back in at pick 32 to select Lamar Jackson to end the night. Jackson will have time to learn behind Joe Flacco. However, if Flacco – or the offensive line – struggles, we could see Jackson sooner than later.

Here’s a look at the results from some of the other betting props:
