NFL Picks: Dallas faces biggest test yet in Seattle

NFL Picks:  The biggest surprise on the NFL betting board so far this season has been the Dallas Cowboys, who are using the combination of a ground and pound offense with an improved defense to lead the NFC East.  The defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks have used that same formula for their new status as the best team in the NFL and as the favorites to repeat as champions on Super Sunday.

The Seahawks will host the Cowboys at CenturyLink Field on Sunday with coverage on FOX starting at 4:25 PM ET.  Seattle opened as an eight point favorite with a total of 47.

How ‘bout them Cowboys

After losing their opener 28-17 at home to San Francisco the Dallas Cowboys have won four in a row to stand at 4-1 straight up, 3-2 against the spread, and 2-3 under the total.  The Cowboys rank second in the NFL for rushing offense, fifth for total offense and sixth for scoring offense while their defense has shown dramatic improvement to rank eighth for points allowed.

Seahawks continue to Soar

Seattle is 3-1 both SU and ATS with a 2-2 mark on totals.  The Seahawks are the top rushing team in the NFL and rank fifth for scoring offense.  Their rush defense is tops in the NFL and is the perfect answer for Dallas’ ground oriented attack.

Matchup and Pick

Dallas has been a better value than expected on the road with 10 payouts in their last 16 away games as five out of their last seven road games have gone over the total.  Seattle has one of the top home advantages in any sport however as the Seahawks have paid out in 15 out of their last 20 home games with six out of their last seven home games going under the total.

The Seahawks have paid out in their last two meetings with Dallas as both games went under the total.  Two seasons ago Seattle dominated Dallas in a 27-7 win in their last home game against the Cowboys.  The Seahawks and Cowboys have gone under the total in four out of their last five meetings at Seattle.  We like the home field advantage of Seattle and under the total.
