Old Dominion Monarchs vs. UNI Panthers Free Prediction

The Monarchs come in on a high note after thoroughly outplaying the Kennesaw State Owls in their last matchup, 65-47. Old Dominion’s 29.4 offensive rebounding percentage was their largest advantage over Kennesaw State, who had a rate of 14.6. The Monarchs’ mark was above their season average of 27.6, while the Owls’ was below their season average of 33.1. Old Dominion was lifted by B.J. Stith, who put up 13 points and 10 rebounds.

In the Panthers’ last matchup, they were victorious over the Eastern Kentucky Colonels, 90-85. The Panthers made 27 of their 33 free throws (81.8 percent) and had an effective field goal percentage of 0.543 (above their season average of 0.482). AJ Green led UNI in scoring with 23 points on 7-for-16 shooting from the field.

UNI might struggle to put up points as they square off against one of the nation’s best defenses. Old Dominion ranks eighth in defensive efficiency, while the Panthers rank 279th in offensive efficiency since the 2017-18 season. The Monarchs should have an edge in terms of ball protection. They rank 23rd at avoiding errors (turnover percentage of 15.8 percent). Conversely, the Panthers have forced the 100th-fewest turnovers in the NCAA (opponents’ turnover percentage of 17.6 percent).
