Edmonton (-105) is playing the role of underdog to Vegas (-115), and the oddsmakers have set the Over/Under (O/U) at 6 goals. The odds for betting the total stand at -120 under, +100 over.

Vegas is 14-13 straight up (SU) and has lost 3.2 units for moneyline bettors this year. Through 27 regular season matches, 15 of its games have gone under the total, while 12 have gone over and none have pushed. The Knights are 7-9 SU as a road team in 2018-19.

Vegas has converted on 19.1 percent of its power play chances this year, a figure that’s right around league average. Additionally, it has the fourth-best penalty kill in the league, and it’s successfully killed off 83.5 percent of all penalties.

For the team as a whole, Vegas has been penalized just 3.4 times per game this season, and 4.1 per game over its past ten games. The team’s been forced to kill penalties just 8.0 minutes per game over their last five outings.

Averaging 24.1 saves per game with a .911 save percentage, Marc-Andre Fleury (14-9-1) has been the top option in goal for Vegas this season. If head coach Gerard Gallant chooses to rest him, however, the team could roll with Malcolm Subban (0-5 record, .859 save percentage, 4.02 goals against average).

Jonathan Marchessault and William Karlsson will both be relied on to facilitate things for the visiting Golden Knights. Marchessault (21 points) is up to 10 goals and 11 assists, and has recorded two or more points five times. Karlsson has eight goals and 12 assists to his name, and has registered at least one point in 13 games.

On the other side of the ice, Edmonton is 12-13 straight up (SU) and has lost 0.3 units for moneyline bettors thus far. Through 25 regular season contests, 12 of its games have gone under the total, while 11 have gone over and just two have pushed. It’s 6-5 SU at home this season.

Edmonton has converted on 22.8 percent of its power play chances this season, a mark that’s good enough for 10th-best in the league. On the other hand, its penalty kill is ranked 28th overall, and it’s successfully killed off 75.3 percent of all opponent power plays.

The Oilers have been penalized 4.0 times per game this season, and 3.0 per game over their last five home outings. The team has been forced to kill penalties just 6.0 minutes per game over their last five outings.

Cam Talbot (25.1 saves per game) has been the top option in goal for Edmonton. Talbot has five wins, 10 losses, and one OT loss to his credit and has recorded a poor .889 save percentage and 3.29 goals against average this year.

Connor McDavid (13 goals, 21 assists) will pace the offensive counter for the Oilers.
