2018 RuPaul’s Drag Race Recap and Odds — It’s the Semi-Finals!

RuPaul's Drag Race

We’re only two weeks away from finding out the winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race! What a season it’s been! The four contestants who still remain are:

Eureka
Asia
Kameron
Aquaria

Interestingly, Kameron has lip-synched for her life three times and won three times, but she’s still in the competition.

In this week’s maxi challenge, RuPaul wants the drags to perform the song “American” to ‘help unite the country’. They will write and record their own solo verse and Todrick Hall will challenge them with the most difficult choreography of the season. They’ll perform “American” and make a guest appearance on RuPaul’s podcast as part of their challenge.

Eureka is the first guest on the podcast and she really has a great sense of humor and I think she does a great job telling stories about her life. Aquaria cuts a record and I think I’ve heard pigs squeal more in tone. LOL Aquaria makes an appearance on the podcast and talks about finding out about RuPaul’s Drag Race when she was 7th grade and she’s wanted to be on it ever since. Kameron, who is super shy, is now on the podcast. Kameron talks about how talking about things scare her. Asia talked about how her father passed in July and her mother passed in January of the same year and how RuPaul told her to remember who she is and that’s helped her in this competition.

The women go to dance rehearsal and Kameron and Eureka struggle a bit while Asia and Aquaria seem to get it right off the bat.

It’s showtime!

The show starts and the performances seem to be going smoothly. Aquaria is knocking it out of the park and looks amazing. Asia has a Tina Turner vibe about her and is doing well with the choreography, but stumbles a little bit. Eureka has a Beyonce vibe going and for someone who wasn’t sure about her choreography, she nailed it! Great competition. Eureka who can sing and was afraid of the choreography that also gets it right. Deciding to eliminate is going to be so hard.

Snapshot is up next and the judges will combine this with the singing. Aquaria looked stunning. I’m not a big fan of Asia’s dress, but I think she looks good with her makeup and hair. Kameron looks stunning in the lavender. How creative for Eureka to come out with the definition of her name on her dress and a dictionary on her head. I loved it.

Judges: Ross says that Aquaria’s looks are amazing. Carson says every week she looked amazing. Todrick said it was awesome to work with a young queen who is this polished. Todrick says that Asia’s look is an eyegasm. Ross said what she wrote was poetry. Carson said she had some great moments in the show. Carson says that Eureka lights up the stage and that she’s a fun carnival ride. Todrick says you have a spark and energy. Ross loves Eureka and said she brought her to a whole new level. Todrick said his favorite moment was hearing her sing and that she was good at it. RuPaul says she’s a true survivor.

Who is eliminated this week? Nobody! RuPaul decides to keep all of the women and send them to the finale. Great decision because they all did so well.

Two weeks from now is the finale of RuPaul’s Drag Race! Who will you put your money on?
