Alabama State Hornets vs. Iowa Hawkeyes Free Prediction

The Hornets come in on a high note after blowing out the Birmingham-Southern Panthers in their last game, 86-44. The Hornets had a much better free throw rate (0.328 vs. 0.140) and had a much better offensive rebounding percentage (38.5 vs. 19.6). Alabama State rallied around Branden Johnson, who finished with 11 points and 13 rebounds.

In the Hawkeyes’ last game, they had no trouble getting past the Connecticut Huskies, 91-72. The Hawkeyes knocked down 29 of their 37 free throws (78.4 percent) and had an offensive rebounding percentage of 51.6 (above their season average of 29.9). Tyler Cook was the top scorer from either team with 26 points on 10-for-14 shooting from the field.

Iowa could have their way on the offensive side of the ball as their high-octane offense faces off against one of the country’s worst defenses. Since last season, the Hawkeyes rank 43rd in offensive efficiency, while Alabama State ranks 313th in defensive efficiency.

The Hawkeyes won the sole game against the Hornets last season, 92-58. The Hawkeyes had a much better free throw rate (0.250 vs. 0.094) and had a much better turnover percentage (9.8 vs. 19.8).
