Braehmer vs Cleverly Boxing Odds For Sat

Braehmer vs Cleverly Boxing Odds – The Jahnsportforum in Neubrandenburg, Germany hosts WBA world light heavyweight champion Juergen Braehmer’s latest title defense as he faces England’s Nathan Cleverly.

Braehmer is 48-2 overall and has held the WBA world title since December, 2013. Cleverly held the WBO version of the world title for two years, from 2011 until 2013, and this showdown between the two European fighters has been a long time in the making. Braehmer, who has fought his entire career in his native Germany, had signed to face Cleverly in England, but an injury prevented the fight from happening. It should also be noted that the WBA recognizes a “Super World” Champion rated above Braehmer, and that belt is held by Sergey Kovalev. Cleverly lost his WBA belt to Kovalev, who is considered the #1 light heavyweight in the world right now, and a win over Braehmer would give Cleverly another world title and a clear path to a rematch with Kovalev.

Braehmer is a very experienced and gritty fighter who enjoys strong support at home. He is sometimes criticized for not fighting outside of Germany, but he has been fighting with a world title around his waist for roughly five of the last seven years and he knows how to win. When he signed to fight Cleverly in England he was praised for stepping out of his comfort zone, but when he pulled out of the fight all of the old criticisms about Braehmer being a “regional fighter” returned.

Cleverly (29-3) has been adding quality experience since his world title run. He spent time campaigning at Cruiserweight, and he is coming off a standout performance in a loss to Andrjez Fonfara his last time out. Cleverly has been off for about a year, but at 29 years old and with distinct height and reach advantages, Cleverly has to like his chances going in.

Braehmer vs Cleverly Boxing Odds and More

The odds appear below, and 168-pound stand-out Vincent Feigenbutz (23-2) returns to face Argentina’s Guillermo Ruben Andino in a match that sees the German fighter heavily favored. Check the latest Talk’n’Shoot video blog for more details on this weekend’s fights.

Light Heavyweight 12 rounds –
Nathan Cleverly +190
Juergen Braehmer -230

Super Middleweight –
Guillermo Ruben Andino +1750
Vincent Feigenbutz -5250

Also appearing at the books is the heavyweight fight between Joseph Parker and Alexander Dimitrenko scheduled for the Vodafone Events Centre in Manukau City, New Zealand. Parker is 24 years old and 20-0 and he is on the cusp of big things. A win over the experienced Dimitrenko (38-2) will leave Parker as the IBF’s mandatory opponent for their heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua.

The entire heavyweight division has been sent into flux by WBA/WBO world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury’s pulling out of his Oct. 29th match with Wladimir Klitschko. Prior to Fury’s announcement, Joshua promoter Eddie Hearn had mentioned Parker’s name as the next most likely opponent for his charge. With the 40 year old icon Klitschko now looking for an opponent, the winner of Parker and Dimitrenko is not assured a shot at Joshua just yet, but you can expect Parker to hold up his end of the bargain by beating Dimitrenko.

Heavyweight 12 rounds –
Alexander Dimitrenko +1500
Joseph Parker -3750
