College Football Quick Picks Week 7

Washington State @ Stanford – Line: Stanford (-16) O/U- 53 – Washington State quarterback Connor Halliday threw for a ridiculous 734 passing yards and somehow the Cougars still lost by one point last week, 60-59.  That stuff literally will not fly against Stanford’s defense, which allows a grumpy 8.6 points per game.  What to make of this?  How about a similar result to last year, when the Cardinal won 55-17.

Pick: Stanford (-16) OVER 53.

Middle Tennessee @ Marshall – Line: Marshall (-24.5) O/U- 69.5 – So, Marshall is pretty good.  They also have the advantage of having a movie made about them.  They also score lots of points, and Middle Tennessee gives up a lot of points.  Marshall moves to 6-0 in their usual fashion, which is via blowout.

 Pick: Marshall (-24.5) OVER 69.5.

Louisiana-Monroe @ Kentucky – Line: Kentucky (-21) O/U- 49 – Kentucky has a great defense.  Louisiana-Monroe has Duck Dynasty.  Also, the Warhawks have trouble scoring.  Kentucky will shut down LA-Monroe and win easily, but would basically have to score 49 on their own to reach the Over.

Pick: Kentucky (-21) UNDER 49.

Northwestern @ Minnesota – Line: Minnesota (-3.5) O/U- 43.5 – Both teams have surprisingly good defenses.  Minnesota however, has a deceitful 4-1 record.  They really haven’t played anyone, and Northwestern seems to have found their groove right as conference play started.

Pick: Northwestern (+4) UNDER 43.5

Cincinnati @ Miami (FL) – Line: Miami (-17) O/U- 57 – The Bearcats have already beaten a Miami this year, but that one was in Ohio. One out of two ain’t bad.  Although the Hurricanes aren’t very good, they’ll get the win, but much closer than predicted.  Both offenses are rather bland.

Pick: Cincinnati (+17) UNDER 57

Duke @ Georgia Tech – Line: Georgia Tech (-3.5) O/U- 61.5 – Georgia Tech has coasted through a relatively easy schedule, but lack a convincing win since the first two weeks of the season.  They share a common opponent in Miami (FL).  The Yellowjackets won 28-17, while the Blue Devils were dealt their first loss of the season, 21-10.  Georgia Tech takes advantage of their home field, and relies on their running game to overcome Duke, keeping the point total low.

Pick: Georgia Tech (-3.5) UNDER 61.5

Boston College @ NC State – Line: NC State (-3.5) O/U- 56.5 – The Wolfpack are reeling after a 41-0 thrashing from Clemson last week.  Their defensive troubles have been exposed in their last two games, both losses.  Boston College is better than most think, and they have they best win of the two teams, a 37-31 win over USC.  The Eagles will show again this week that NC State cannot hang with decent competition, even at home

Pick: Boston College (+3.5) UNDER 56.5

Bowling Green @ Ohio – Line: Bowling Green (-1) O/U 66 – Bowling Green has the worst defense in the country.  Fortunately for them, Ohio has one of the worst offenses, posting just 19.0 points per game.  The Falcons get the win, but get no help from the Bobcats in covering the point toal.

Pick: Bowling Green (-1) UNDER 66
